Control Your Hips To Improve Your Knees

Strength is important for runners, yet I feel that motor control is an essential prerequisite. You can think of motor control as your ability to simply move with precision. When you learn something new, you're obviously not going to have the precision that someone with 1000 reps under their belt has, yet with deliberate practice, you'll improve.

This week I want to introduce you to a simple move that “should be easy”... if you have good motor control over your hip muscles.

Many folks who end up with knee pain have lousy hip mechanics and thus, their knee pays the price. Those of you dealing with knee pain or who are interested in preventing knee pain, this is for you!

There are progressions and regressions from this exercise, so if this is totally easy, yet you're still having knee issues contact me and I'll help point you in the right direction. If this is too hard and you just aren't getting it, let me know, too.
